Summary of complaints and investigations

The Summary of Selected Complaints and Investigations is a selection of complaints made to the Board about the conduct of accredited certifiers.

The Summary expands on some of the more interesting case studies and common disciplinary breaches brought before the Board's Disciplinary Committee.

The Summary is released regularly and is designed to help certifying authorities make early decisions that may help to avoid problems, delays or disciplinary actions in the future.

Complying development checklist and guide

The Building Professionals Board, together with the Department of Planning and Infrastructure, have developed checklists to assist councils and accredited certifiers when assessing applications for complying development certificates made under State Environmental Planning Policy (Exempt and Complying Development Codes) 2008 (the Codes SEPP).

The Housing Code checklist, and Commercial and Industrial Code checklist, are accompanied by guides. Both checklists must be read together with their respective guides, and neither replace the need for the council or accredited certifier to read and have a full understanding of the Codes SEPP
