Individual applicants - applying for accreditation

To be accredited, an individual applicant must:

  • demonstrate they have the skills, knowledge, qualifications and experience required by the accreditation scheme,
  • demonstrate they are a fit and proper person to be accredited,
  • provide evidence of their professional indemnity insurance, and
  • pay the required accreditation fee.

The requirements of the accreditation scheme are set out in Circular BS 07-002 New scheme for accrediting certifiers in New South Wales, March 2007.

The skills and knowledge an applicant needs to demonstrate are called performance criteria under the accreditation scheme.

To apply for the following, individual applicants need to complete and lodge an Application for accreditation Form 1 (pdf):

  • accreditation for the first time,
  • accreditation where the applicant's previous accreditation has expired, or
  • an additional category of accreditation or to change a category of accreditation.
